I was visited by the Los Angeles Police Departments' Internal Affairs (IA), as a Customer Service/Public Relations to personally send LAPD IA Officer's to the Residence of a Citizen who has filed a Formal Complaint.
In comparison to the many issues that have transpired at this residential location against me, it seemed odd that they would show up because I filed a Complaint about a POLICY Issue in reference to the Time Frame it takes for a person to obtain a police report.
In order to obtain a copy as the Victim of a Police Report
1. You must write a formal letter requesting said Report.
2. It can only be done via Postal Mail - meaning, no emails, no online forms
3. Send a $24 check to pay for the report
4. Upon the LAPD Records Obtaining the Request they will process in the order in which received
5. THE WAIT - 4 to 6 Weeks. The reason, budget cuts has reduced their staff to such a small degree, that they cannot process the 2-300 requests, either per day or per week. I think it is per day.
